Welcome to Austin Pathways

Austin Pathways is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes the education and general welfare of low-income Austinites in subsidized housing programs, specifically those who live in the 18 public housing communities owned and operated by the Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) and those who participate in its Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program.

Self-Sufficiency Programs

Nearly half of Austin’s public housing and HCV program residents are low-income children who participate in our Youth Educational Success program.

Austin’s public housing and HCV program help adults and families move from crisis to stable housing. Once housed, individuals and families can work toward economic independence.

Seniors and Disabled

Public housing and HCV programs help Austin’s elderly and disabled maintain safe, affordable housing and avoid institutionalization.

Each year the Austin Pathways Scholars program provides renewable scholarships to eligible residents of HACA public housing and HCV program pursuing post-secondary educational opportunities. Since 2001, more than 400 renewable scholarships have been awarded to 265 individuals.
